HOW TO Participate!

First--create a show. Add all the info you can think of to the show page.

Then create a synopsis for the show if you wish, linking it to that show.

Next--create pages for all the characters and link them to the specific show.

NEXT, create pages for all the songs, and link them to both the characters who sing them and the show they belong to.

(These are all inter-related, and it's easiest to create the records in that order so you don't have to go back and edit the records you've already made.)

NOW you can create your star(s). Everyone involved in a production--actors, producers, stage managers, etc. Each gets their own "star" page. And, if you want, create a page for a specific production company if no record exists.

And now that you have the show created, and the star records created (and perhaps the production company's record), you can create a specific production for that specific show. This can be produced by a specific company if you want (since you've already created the record, right?) based on a specific show (already created, right?) starring specific actors playing specific characters (created created created).

And THEN, you can start creating audio clips and video clips and start uploading media. The media can then be linked to (deep breath) a specific show, a specific character, a specific song, a specific production, a specific production company, AND/OR a specific actor or actors appearing in the clip. Or whatever variation thereof you so choose.

Complex? Yeah, a little. It will get easier as more shows and actors are already in the database, for then you won't have to add them, huh? But then again, when it comes time for you to search for all the clips of one song, or all the media associated with one production, or ALL the media associated with one show but ONLY those productions performed in New England on odd-numbered days in June.... THAT's when all this attention to detail will pay off.

If THAT's not enough, you can always maintain your own blog, or create your own media, or link to pictures, audio or video hosted elsewhere, like flikr or youtube. So long as it's THEATER and obeys COPYRIGHT! And you're reasonably nice to people. You know, the usual rules.

Got any other questions? Ask on the forum! That's what it's there for!
