Ideas for the Front Page.

Since we're in beta and everything is still in flux, here's where we can discuss how we're ultimately going to categorize the site and how users can easily find what they're looking for. Right now all the menu items go to super UGLY pages that are basically stupid lists of things that may or may not be helpful. (Also on the list of things Mojo is going to do is redo the header as a Flash thing with nicer/prettier lights than what you see currently and drop-down menus. But that will be later.)

The current "THE8R!" menu contains the databases of shows, stars, productions and companies. We (meaning Mojo!) should create search pages for every element, so people can easily find what they're looking for and/or create what needs to be created. And if folks can brainstorm about what THEY would like to see on a front page, super-easy and obvious to access, so much the better.

The MEDIA menu right now is all the media--video, audio and Amazon stuff. Even though it's also connected to the shows, actors, productions and companies I still like it separate 'cuz sometimes people just like to see stuff.

Resources is the more educational/informational/professional stuff.

I guess I don't need to describe the rest of it, since one needs only to click on things if it's not obvious. But I guess what I'm saying is, right now it's WAY too confusing to navigate. How do we make it easier for our users?

   more site stuff

Hey there- I found the forum, thanks to the link you sent... I had stumbled on it once before, as it all looked familiar, but this is my first time trying it out.

I did have trouble finding the key to add new comment, as it touches the "flag for moderation" thing, and I thought it was all one item at first.

Also- as far as clarity- I love the clever names you have for the different things on the front page ("magical place", "getcha", "spare change"), but as you roll your mouse over an item, perhaps it should say specifically what it is ("Music Archive" "show Library", things like that).

GETCHA should be GOTCHA- especially cuz you use "getcha" in your writing. What the dif between "sharing knowledge" and "knowledge sharing"? Just curious!

Ran out of time before I could add more, so I'm just posting this as is!
